PTO Homeroom vs Get Movin'

A 15% donor surcharge, switched on by default at checkout.

The short answer

Get Movin' adds a 15% “donor credit” to every gift with the box already ticked — which is how the marketing reaches “95–97% profit.”

All figures below are the vendors' own published rates, checked on 22 August 2026. Pricing changes — verify with each vendor before deciding.

What to watch for with Get Movin'

  • A 15% surcharge, pre-selected

The cover-the-fee checkbox is rendered already checked, adding 15% on top of the donation. Donors can untick it; most won't notice.

  • The underlying platform rate isn't published

Their pricing page states only that the “average cost for your group ends up at 4% of the online donations total” — after donor credits. The gross rate appears nowhere.

  • Braintree only

No option to connect your own processor.

  • A $10 minimum donation

Small gifts from grandparents and neighbours are turned away.

Where Get Movin' is the better choice

We'd rather you pick the right tool than the one that wrote the comparison.

  • A real human coach

Every event comes with a coach and a six-week playbook. Schools consistently rate that support highly, and it's the part we productised rather than staffed.

  • Keep 100% of cash and cheques

    No cut on offline money.

  • Proven at the fun-run format

Student pages, thermometers and incentive tracking all work well.
