Membership

A PTO membership form that builds your roster while it collects dues

The membership drive is the one moment every family fills something in. Most PTOs waste it on a form that collects a payment and nothing else, then rebuild the roster by hand in October.

The short answer

Homeroom's join form does four things in one submission: takes dues (card, or records cash/check later), creates the family with every adult's contact, places each student in a grade and homeroom, and captures the directory opt-in. Membership itself is derived from the dues payment — there is no separate list to keep in sync.

Built for a phone at pickup

The form is a link — in an email, on a flyer's QR code, on the school's website. No account, no app, no password. A parent finishes in under two minutes, including payment.

Teachers and second households

Teachers can join through their own link (free or paid, the board's choice), with a t-shirt size for spirit wear. A second household can be added so a divorced family gets two contacts and one student record.

What the treasurer sees

Every online payment posts to the books with its fee breakdown; cash and checks are recorded next to them. The membership count on the admin home is the number of paid families in this school year — not a spreadsheet's guess.

Membership cards

Every paid family gets a digital card with a QR code, so a check-in table at an event scans instead of scanning a list.

Questions boards ask

Can dues be free or optional?

Yes — set dues to $0 or mark them optional; the form still builds the roster and directory.

Can we import last year's roster first?

Yes. Paste or upload any spreadsheet; columns are mapped for you and duplicates merge instead of doubling.
